You are invited to The Potters' Club ‘Pottery Throwdown’ 3 October and 24 October 2023 No previous experience necessary; an opportunity to learn new skills, be creative & have fun.
Stoke-on-Trent is the home of the pottery industry and the TV series ‘The Great Pottery Throwdown’ has aired some 55 episodes attracting millions of viewers. Studio pottery and learning how to make things from clay has become extremely popular. This is your chance to have an introductory experience to this art. Tuition by Joan and Kath of JayKay Studio Pottery and all materials will be provided.
3 October - 11am-4pm - Prosecco reception at 11am followed by demonstrations of wedging, throwing and scraffito, tuition and workshop where you will decorate your own stoneware coaster and create a pinch pot. Lunch is provided with an opportunity to view the gallery of work produced by all participants. The work will then be taken away for glazing and firing. Fee: £29.75 - includes Prosecco reception, workshop and two-course lunch.
24 October - 12.30-2.30pm - Prosecco reception, buffet lunch providing a chance for the new pottery friends to meet again. All work displayed and returned; awarding of prizes.
