We want to inform our Members about upcoming major transformation works scheduled to commence on Station Road, starting on 20 May, These developments follow a period of detailed planning and will, at times, affect the area outside The Potters' Cub.
Led by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, the project encompasses a comprehensive overhaul of Station Road and its vicinity. This includes the remodelling of Winton Square, installation of a bus gate, and introduction of new high-capacity bus stops and shelters. Additionally, an improved drainage system will be implemented to mitigate flood risks, alongside the relocation of the Josiah Wedgwood statue to the station's main entrance.
In line with contemporary needs, the scheme prioritises active travel, aiming to create a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists. As part of this initiative, Station Road's carriageway will be realigned and downsized, while the car park will be redesigned to accommodate relocated parking spaces from Winton Square.
We want to reassure our valued Members that, while traffic management and diversions will be in place from time to time, these transformational works will not disrupt access to The Potters' Club, whether by foot or by car. Throughout the duration of the project, our car park will remain fully operational, ensuring seamless access for all. We are committed to minimising any inconvenience and maintaining the convenience and comfort of our Members throughout this period of redevelopment.
Please note that to facilitate these enhancements, a section of Station Road will be fully closed for a period of up to six weeks starting from 27 June. Diversions will be clearly signposted throughout this time. We understand the importance of access to our facilities and we are working with the project team to ensure minimal disruption.
We will keep Members updated via our website and weekly emails, throughout the project.
