We are re-opening to members and their guests, on Friday 31 July.

The past few months have been tough for us all – it was heartbreaking to have to close our doors in the middle of March - so we are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening our restaurant to members and their guests, on Friday 31 July.

We are re-opening to members and their guests, on Friday 31 July.

Dear Members

The Potters’ Club has a longstanding reputation for hospitality and fine dining, within our unique surroundings.  We are renowned for delicious, seasonal menus, updated every month, to take advantage of the best, freshest ingredients.

The past few months have been tough for us all – it was heartbreaking to have to close our doors in the middle of March - so we are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening our restaurant to members and their guests, on Friday 31 July.

Members will appreciate that, under current restrictions, your dining experience, while still excellent, will be slightly different, as we do our utmost to keep members, their guests and our staff, as safe as possible.

All our staff will receive special and regularly updated training, and will wear appropriate PPE.

Our chefs are already well-trained in hygiene standards and will be applying even more stringent standards to deep clean the kitchens on a frequent basis. They will wear appropriate PPE and will maintain social distancing in the kitchens. They will always use the freshest of ingredients in our dishes, to maintain the highest standards that members expect.

We will be offering a set-priced menu, with a choice of three starters, mains and desserts, at £40 per person (£30 per person for Sunday lunch), which will need to be pre-paid, at the time of booking. Of course, we will continue to meet specific dietary needs, where these are advised well in advance.

As we re-open the Club premises, we are taking steps to ensure that we all maintain maximum cleanliness and social distancing. As well as frequent deep cleaning of all front-of-house areas, we will be providing hand-sanitisation stations throughout the Club.

We will be restricting our opening times, at least in these initial stages, to Friday and Saturday evenings (6.30 - 10pm) and Sunday lunchtimes (12 - 4pm). We will be restricting access to a maximum of 30 guests at any sitting.

Members will need to pre-book their tables, and arrival times will be staggered by 15 minute intervals, to allow our staff to welcome your party appropriately and to explain the new regime.

Pre-booking can be done online or by phone (please bear with us if you do not get through first time, as we will be working remotely when the Club is closed). You can also leave a message on the answerphone or email info@thepottersclub.co.uk, and we will call you back.

The £10 vouchers which we have been crediting monthly to your account during the lockdown, can be redeemed in-house (maximum of two vouchers per visit), to pay for drinks and any extras. Please note that we will not have facilities for taking cash, so please remember to bring your debit/credit card with you, to cover extras and staff tips.

On arrival at the Club, guests are asked to use the lift, not the stairs, and to use the wipes provided to sanitise the keypads before every use. On arrival in reception, we will offer hand-sanitiser and take your temperature using a contactless thermometer, and will then take you direct to your table – the lounge and the bar will not be available.

Coats will be stored in the Johnson Room, to minimise people in the cloakrooms – we will be restricting access to the cloakrooms to one person at a time, and staff will sanitise frequently.

In the restaurant, in order to ensure maximum hygiene and customer safety, we will be providing individual sachets of condiments. Your drinks order will be brought to your table, but we will be leaving you to serve your own wine, and top up your own water glasses.

We hope that members understand the need for this strict regime at the present time. We have appreciated your continued support through the past weeks, and your co-operation during this challenging time for us all. (Obviously, these plans may need to change, as government guidelines are amended.)

We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to your Club, very soon!
