The Potters’ Club has been running successfully since we re-opened at the end of July, and we are pleased that the steps which we have taken have helped to ensure that guests and staff members all feel comfortable and safe, as we all maintain maximum cleanliness and social distancing on the premises. As well as frequent deep cleaning of all front-of-house areas, we are providing hand-sanitisation stations throughout for members and guests to use.
All our front of house and kitchen staff receive special and regularly updated training and wear appropriate PPE (personal protection equipment). Our chefs are well-trained in the highest of hygiene standards and are applying even more stringent steps to deep clean the kitchen on a frequent basis. They continue, as always, to use the freshest of ingredients in our dishes, to maintain the highest standards that members expect.
We know that members and their guests understand the need for this strict regime at the present time. We have appreciated your continued support through the past weeks, and your co-operation during this challenging time for us all. (Obviously, these plans may need to change, as government guidelines are amended.)
We would ask all members, not to visit our premises if you or any family member has any symptoms, or if you are self-isolating following travel overseas or possible contact with a sufferer.
Pre - booking
Members will appreciate that, under current restrictions, your dining experience, while still excellent, will be slightly different, as we do our utmost to keep members, their guests and our staff, as safe as possible.
Members will need to pre-book their tables, arrival times will be staggered to allow our staff to welcome your party appropriately and to explain the new regime we have put in place for your safety.

(Please bear with us if you do not get an immediate response to emails, as we will be working remotely when the Club is closed.)
We have now extended our opening times, to include Thursday evenings, so we are now open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings 6.30 - 10pm (last orders for food 8.30pm)and Sunday lunchtimes 12 - 4pm (last orders for food 2pm). We will continue to restrict the numbers of guests on the premises at any one time (maximum six guests per party), in order to ensure social distancing throughout the Club premises. (We will retain a register of guests attending)
Please be aware that, under current restrictions, we have to close the Club by 10pm, latest – your co-operation will be appreciated.
We will be offering a set-priced four course menu at £40 per person on Friday & Saturday evenings and £30 per person on Thursday evenings and for Sunday lunch, which will need to be pre-paid at the time of booking. Of course, we will continue to meet specific dietary requirements, where these are advised well in advance.
We are also organising extra events, such as a monthly Ladies’ Lunch and Afternoon Tea – check our weekly emails or the website for details.
If you would like to suggest other such events that we could organise from time to time, please email us with your ideas – if there is sufficient interest and as long as we can organise in a covid-safe manner, we will be pleased to consider all suggestions.
£10 Monthly Credit and £10 Drinks Vouchers
The credit to your account during the lockdown (for all fully paid members), has been converted into vouchers which can be redeemed in-house (maximum of two vouchers per visit). These vouchers are a special thank you for your continued support and can be used as payment towards your final bill.
When members attend the Club for a meal, they will receive a £10 drinks voucher*, to use on a future visit. This is a thank-you to those members who are returning to the Club, during these difficult times. (*Ts & Cs apply)
For your safety on arrival & during your visit
Members are asked to arrive at the allocated time when you made the booking, this is essential so we can adhere to social distancing rules.
Please remember to bring your face mask with you – under current regulations, guests will be required to wear their face masks at all times, when they are not at their tables. We will have a supply of disposable masks, which we will ask you to wear, if you have forgotten to bring your own.
On arrival at the Club, guests are advised to use the lift, not the stairs, and to use the hand sanitiser provided in the lobby of Federation House, and in reception, to sanitise hands on arrival on the premises, and in the Club.
On arrival in reception, and before you are shown to your allocated table, a member of staff will take your temperature using a contactless thermometer.
Coats will be stored in the Johnson Room to reduce the number of guests in the cloakroom therefore allowing clear access to the restroom facilities. Due to the current legislation, both ladies and gents facilities are strictly on a one in one out basis, and staff will sanitise frequently. Where numbers dictate, we will also open the restroom facilities in the stairwell.
We will be restricting the number of guests in the restaurant at any sitting, with tables (maximum six guests per table) at least one metre apart. The bar area will remain closed until further notice.
When seated at your table, you may remove your masks. Staff will take your orders for drinks and food. While it is important that you arrive at your appointed time, please feel free to relax and take your time before ordering your food, if you wish to. Your food & drinks will be served at your table, but for maximum safety, we would kindly ask you to pour your own wine and water.
In the restaurant, in order to ensure maximum hygiene and customer safety, we will be providing disposable menus and wine lists.
If you wish to relax in the lounge with your coffee and maybe a liqueur, after your meal, please inform a member of staff so that they can allocate you an appropriate table.
In order to pay for any drinks and extras, please ask a member of staff to bring the bill to your table, to prevent any queuing at reception, as payment can be made anywhere within the Club. Please note that we will not have facilities for taking cash, so please remember to bring your debit/credit card with you.
Under current regulations, please remember that we have to close the Club by 10pm, latest – your co-operation will be appreciated.
When leaving the Club please remember to collect your own coats and belongings before departing using the lift. Please be aware of other guests leaving whilst keeping a safe distance – you will need to wear your face masks as you leave the premises - and don’t forget the code for exiting the car park.
